INVENTOR OF THE TRAILBOW®

(Inventor of The TRAILBOW®, Tony Johnson, seen here walking along side Jordan Spieth and then amatuer, Collegiate Showcase 2019 winner, Scottie Scheffler.) Tony has been a caddie for the Collegiate and PRO-AM tournaments at one of the PGA Tour's most prestigious events, The Genesis Open (sponsored by Tiger Woods) at Riviera Golf and Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California for the past 12 years. After picking the brains of the world's top professional golfers from inside the ropes for this many years, Tony has been able to glean invaluable insight, as well as, see the mechanics of their golf swings up close and personal. This research lead him to create; The TRAILBOW® Training Aid. By comparing the swings of professional golfers, to those of amatuer golfers (himself included), he noticed that the most polarizing difference between the two groups was the position of their trail-side elbows at or just before impact. When lining up just about every professional golfer's down-the-line (DTL) photos taken at or just before impact, their swings were nearly identical. No matter what their backswings look like, ala Jim Furyk. Or what their follow-throughs consisted of, one thing was clear; they were all in "the slot" with their hips open to about 45° at impact and their trail-side elbows were almost touching their waists. The great, Ben Hogan called this "the Magic Move." Tony calls the way for the average golfer to achieve this, The TRAILBOW® Training Aid. "...the backswing is sort of irrelevant as long as you can get yourself down into the impact zone properly." Xander Schauffelle
